I've doing some comparing of the new Advanced Alert in 10.5 for Neighbour changes to my current alerts for BGP neighbour changes through syslog. And I have found that the Advanced Alert is received about 3 to 5 mins after I receive the syslog notification. That's too slow. With the notification being too slow, flapping can be missed. There are times I will not get an email from the Advanced Alert about a neighbour change as it was down and up before the Advanced Alert process noticed it.
I've changed the "Check this Alert every" to 15 seconds but still the notification is 3-5 mins after the syslog notification.
Is there anyway of speeding up the Advanced Alert so that I can remove my syslog rule?
