What you call "module" we call "views". The best way to accomplish this is to create a customized view [Settings - Manage Views]. Make a copy the View you'd like to base this view on [Application Summary] or create a new view and add your own resources to the layout.
[Edit] the view you'd like to filter based on some property type by defining a View Limitation. In your example above [Device Status = External]
