I've never been quite clear on the relationship between Hardware monitoring in NPM, and SAM (APM). I had all of my HP servers monitored using UnDP's prior to the hardware monitoring features, so you could always try that -- its a bit more work, but it worked well for us. And here's a dumb question, but do you have the HP SNMP agents software installed on those boxes? I never get anything back from the hardware details piece until I have the HP SNMP agents installed.
