Peter, I would recommend using a Cisco.Router.General device type with our Variations feature. You will want to go to the Additional Commands tab, check the enable box, and delete the word enable....

There's not much you can add or remove to that. The file is in C:\inetpub\SolarWinds\Orion\NetPerfMon. It's an aspx and it's not really designed to have things added. You can remove things though...
